Hunger Network is a fantastic organization that, at it’s core, works to end the hunger crisis in North-Eastern Ohio. They had two separate websites with two distinct goals that needed to be merged into one website. In addition, new branding was being deployed so their new website needed to reflect that while highlighting their mission. From a technical standpoint, the Hunger Network had multiple integration request to take the site to a whole new level.

Corrao Designs worked hand-in-hand with the Hunger Network to create a website that went beyond custom designed pages, but utilized custom graphics and programs as well. A favorite feature of ours is the mega menu seen when you hover over a link in the navigation menu. Their mega menu is a highly visual menu that truly engages the visitor.

In terms of technical functionality, we created and integrated the following:

• Calculator that displays how many meals your donation provides based on your monetary donation amount

• Flipbook feature that displays multi-page PDFs, giving them a “magazine” feel

• Calendar of events

• Interactive map that shows all of the food pantries that work with the Hunger Network to help those in need locate food near them

• Integration with their donation systems

What we really love about this project that this isn’t only a tool for the Hunger Network to expand their reach  and gather donations to provide more help, but it’s a fully-functional tool that those in need can utilize to locate food near them, access resources, and contact the Hunger Network directly for assistance.
